Harte Georgian Style 2.21m Lamp Post - Cast Iron & Steel

At 2.21 metres, this lamp post reaches a height closer to a traditional street lamp, tall enough to cast light out over a wider driveway or open area of garden. It's part of Harte's Courtyard range, built in cast iron and steel with the cylindrical, Georgian inspired form shared across the collection.

Cast iron and steel build

It's cast in iron and steel, chosen for their ability to stand up to Irish weather without weakening over time. Harte says the cast iron and steel elements of its products carry a lifetime guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions, with exclusions for surface finish, electrical components, copper and aluminium products, and damage caused during installation. Gloss black is the standard finish, with other colours available on request.

How it works

The cylindrical polycarbonate glazing spreads light from an E27 bulb around the post, and the ornate cast iron cap above encloses the housing, cutting glare and sending the light down toward the ground. It needs a mains wiring connection and a fixed base set into the ground, and we recommend a qualified electrician handles the wiring.

Where it works best

At over two metres, it's suited to a driveway, a wider path or an open area of garden where the light needs to carry further than a shorter pedestal light or pier light would allow. It also works well as a matching pair either side of a driveway entrance.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

This lamp post is made by Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, producing cast iron outdoor lighting since 1983, a business founded by Willie Harte and now carried forward by Liz Harte and the next generation. Harte says its lighting is installed at notable Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, alongside private estates and commercial projects across Ireland and the UK.
