Harte Georgian Style 0.98m Pedestal Light - Cast Iron & Steel

Standing at 0.98 metres, this pedestal light is one of the taller freestanding fixtures in Harte's Courtyard range, a collection of outdoor lighting inspired by Georgian era design. Built in cast iron and steel, it's designed to stand on its own fixed base rather than mount to a wall or pier, making it a feature in its own right along a path, drive or garden boundary.

Cast iron and steel build

The pedestal light is built from cast iron and steel, materials chosen for how well they cope with sustained outdoor exposure. Harte says the cast iron and steel elements of its products carry a lifetime guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions, with exclusions for surface finish, electrical components, copper and aluminium products, and damage caused during installation. The standard finish is gloss black, with other colours available on request.

How it works

As a pedestal light, it stands on a fixed base set into the ground, holding the light source at a height suited to path and garden level lighting rather than the taller reach of a lamp post. It requires a mains wiring connection, and we recommend having a qualified electrician handle the wiring and base fixing.

Where it works best

At close to a metre tall, it suits a driveway edge, a garden entrance or a spot along a boundary wall where a taller pedestal light gives more presence than the shorter fixtures in the range, without the height of a full lamp post. Its Georgian styling sits comfortably in both formal and informal garden settings.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

This pedestal light is made by Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, producing cast iron outdoor lighting since 1983. Founded by Willie Harte, the business is carried forward today by Liz Harte and the next generation, including Jack and Sam Harte. Harte says its lighting is installed at notable Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, alongside private homes, estates and commercial projects across Ireland and the UK.
