Harte Georgian Style 0.65m Pier Light For Flat Piers - Cast Iron & Steel

At 0.65 metres, this is the taller of Harte's two pier lights made for flat topped piers, gate or boundary piers built without a coping stone or pyramid cap. Part of the Courtyard range, it carries the same Georgian inspired cylindrical form as the rest of the collection, scaled up for piers with more presence.

Cast iron and steel build

It's made from cast iron and steel, chosen to cope with years of outdoor exposure without losing its shape or structure. Harte says the cast iron and steel elements of its products carry a lifetime guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions, with exclusions for surface finish, electrical components, copper and aluminium products, and damage caused during installation. Gloss black is the standard finish, with other colours available on request.

How it works

The cylindrical polycarbonate glazing distributes light from an E27 bulb, and the ornate cast iron capping above encloses the lamp housing, cutting down on glare and sending light down toward the pier and driveway below. Fitting it means a flush fixing into the flat pier top and a mains wiring connection, which we recommend leaving to a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its height suits larger flat topped piers marking a main entrance or driveway, where a more substantial fixture is wanted without moving to a full lamp post. Fitted in pairs either side of a gate, it gives a strong, symmetrical entrance.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

Harte Outdoor Lighting has been producing cast iron lighting like this since 1983 from its workshop in New Ross, County Wexford, a family business founded by Willie Harte and now carried forward by Liz Harte and the next generation.
