Harte Georgian Style 0.62m Pedestal Light - Cast Iron & Steel

This 0.62 metre pedestal light is a freestanding fixture from Harte's Courtyard range, set on its own fixed base rather than mounted to a wall or pier. Its cylindrical, Georgian inspired form makes it a compact marker light for a path, border or garden entrance.

Cast iron and steel build

Cast in iron and steel, it's built to stand outdoors permanently without the finish or structure degrading. Harte says the cast iron and steel elements of its products carry a lifetime guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions, with exclusions for surface finish, electrical components, copper and aluminium products, and damage caused during installation. It's finished in gloss black as standard, with other colours available on request.

How it works

Light spreads out through cylindrical polycarbonate glazing, and the ornate cast iron cap above encloses the lamp holder, reducing glare and sending the light downward. It's fitted for an E27 bulb, and installation calls for a mains wiring connection and a fixed base set into the ground, work we recommend a qualified electrician carries out.

Where it works best

At just over half a metre, it suits low level positions, a garden bed edge, a path junction, or either side of a small gate, anywhere a freestanding marker light is wanted at a modest scale. It works equally well in a formal garden layout or a more relaxed planting scheme.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

This pedestal light is made by Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, producing cast iron outdoor lighting since 1983. Harte says its lighting is installed at notable Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, as well as private gardens and estates across Ireland and the UK.
