Harte Classic Railway Style 0.62m Wall Light - Cast Iron, Steel & Copper Head

This wall light shares the 0.62 metre scale and cylindrical form of Harte's Station Master range, inspired by the lamps once used on Irish railway platforms in the late 1800s, but tops the cast iron and steel body with a copper head. It's a small change with a real effect, giving the fixture a warmer highlight where the light exits, rather than the uniform gloss black of the standard version.

Cast iron, steel and a copper head

The main body and wall bracket are cast iron and galvanised steel, finished in gloss black as standard with other colours available on request. The head is copper rather than painted iron, a genuine material change rather than a different paint colour, and it will age and weather in the way copper naturally does over time outdoors. Harte says the cast iron and steel elements of its lighting carry a lifetime guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions, though this guarantee excludes copper components, along with surface finish, electrical parts, and installation related damage.

How it works

Light spreads through the cylindrical polycarbonate shade, and the copper cap sits above it, enclosing the lamp and directing light down and outward rather than letting it spill upward past the fixture. It needs a mains wiring connection through the wall bracket, and we recommend a qualified electrician carry out the wiring.

Where it works best

The copper head reads best at close range, so this suits a front door, a porch, or an entrance where people pass close enough to notice the detail, rather than a distant boundary wall. It also pairs naturally with other copper or aged metal fittings nearby.

This wall light is made by Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, producing cast iron outdoor lighting since 1983. Harte says its lighting is installed at notable Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, as well as private homes and hospitality venues across Ireland and the UK.
