Harte Classic Railway Style 0.37m Wall Light - Cast Iron & Steel

This 0.37 metre wall light is one of the wall mounted pieces in Harte's Station Master range, styled after the lamps once used to light Irish railway platforms in the late 1800s. Fixed directly to a wall via its bracket, it carries the same heritage character as the range's posts and hanging lights, in a form built for flanking doorways and lighting walls rather than paths.

Cast iron and steel build

The light is made from cast iron and steel, chosen to withstand years of outdoor exposure. Harte says the cast iron and steel elements of its lighting carry a lifetime guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions, with exclusions for surface finish, electrical components, and damage caused during installation. It comes in gloss black as standard, with other colours available on request.

How it works

Light spreads out through a cylindrical polycarbonate shade, while the ornate cast iron cap encloses the lamp housing above it, reducing glare and directing the light down rather than out into the sky. The fixture projects from a wall mounted bracket, so it needs a solid wall fixing point and a mains wiring connection.

Where it works best

Its wall mounted design suits either side of a front door, either side of a garage or outbuilding entrance, or spaced along a boundary wall. At 0.37 metres it has enough presence to read clearly on brick, render or stone without overwhelming the wall it's fixed to.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

This wall light is made by Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, producing cast iron lighting since 1983. Harte says its lighting is installed at notable Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, as well as private homes, estates and commercial projects across Ireland and the UK.
