At 92cm across, the Drum 36 is one of the largest Scraplights Graypants makes, a genuine statement piece for double height entryways, restaurant dining rooms, or hotel lobbies where a single fixture needs to hold its own. Built from reclaimed corrugated cardboard, laser cut and hand assembled ring by ring, then bonded with non-toxic adhesive and treated with a non-toxic fire retardant, its natural kraft tone lets the material's own texture do the talking. Switched on, the cardboard filters the bulb into a warm amber glow and casts intricate shadow patterns across ceiling and walls, while the fitted glass diffuser softens the light further and evens out the spread below. Hardwired by an electrician, it suits homes and commercial spaces built around a Scandinavian, organic modern or boutique hotel aesthetic.
