The Disc 16 pendant is the smallest size in Graypants' Scraplights Disc range, a 43cm diameter shade built from laser cut rings of reclaimed corrugated cardboard. In the Blonde finish, the natural cardboard tone lets light pass through in soft, warm bands, so the fixture reads as much like a piece of natural material as a light fitting. Its compact scale makes it an easy single statement piece rather than a dominant one.

The Blonde Finish

Blonde is Graypants' most natural cardboard tone, close to the raw material before any further treatment. Every ring is laser cut then hand assembled by layering, so the surface keeps a visible ridged texture rather than a smooth one. Lit or unlit, the rings catch light differently depending on the angle, giving the shade a subtle grain that pairs well with timber, linen and other natural materials in a Scandinavian or Japandi scheme.

How It Works

• Hardwired ceiling pendant fitted with a white fabric cord and a 10cm round canopy in white powder coated steel.
• Takes one E27 bulb, 15W maximum LED, dimmable if you choose a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Bulb not included.
• Comes with a 2m cord as standard. A 5m cord is available on request, useful for higher ceilings.
• Drop height is set on site by your electrician at installation.

Graypants and the Scraplights Story

Graypants was founded in Seattle in 2007 by Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker, who met while studying architecture at the University of Cincinnati. The Scraplights collection the Disc 16 belongs to began almost by accident, when the pair entered a sustainable design competition and started experimenting with leftover cardboard. The laser cutting and layering technique that shapes every Scraplights fixture grew from that early experiment.
