White finished Scraplights are cut by hand rather than by laser, a small technical difference that changes the entire character of the piece. At 163cm in diameter, this Arcturus is the biggest form in the collection, built from hundreds of individually knife cut cardboard rings, hand assembled with non-toxic adhesive and treated with a non-toxic fire retardant, then wrapped around a central glass diffuser that keeps the bulb concealed. In place of the raw kraft tone, the white finish softens the shadow play into something more architectural and gallery-like, putting the emphasis on form and texture rather than colour, while still delivering the same warm, diffused glow Scraplights are known for. It makes a striking centrepiece for an open-plan living room, boutique hotel atrium, or contemporary reception with generous ceiling height.
