Blonde: The Natural Colour of Reclaimed Cardboard

This Blonde finish is simply the natural tone of the cardboard itself, no dye or stain added. Expect warm tan and biscuit tones with visible grain and the occasional fleck from the reclaimed material, so the surface has real texture rather than a flat, uniform colour. Because each shade is hand assembled, the exact pattern and shading vary slightly from one pendant to the next. It sits comfortably alongside timber, linen and other natural materials, and pairs well with warm metal fittings like brass or bronze.

Graypants: From a Cardboard Accident to a Design Studio

Graypants was founded in Seattle in 2007 by Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker, who met while studying architecture at the University of Cincinnati. The Scraplights collection, which the Allyn belongs to, began almost by accident: the pair were experimenting with leftover cardboard at a sustainable design competition when they discovered how well the layered material filtered light. That original idea is still what defines the collection today.
