A Warm Ring of Light in Machined Brass

The Chrona Dish 10h takes the idea of a pendant light and turns it into a glowing ring rather than a single point of light. Hung horizontally so its dish faces the room below, the fixture is machined from brass and lit from within, so what you see from below is a halo of warm light rather than the fitting itself. At 24cm across, it is a mid sized pendant, equally at home hung alone over a round table or repeated in a line along a bar.

Machined Brass, Polished and Precise

This Brass version is finished in machined brass, giving the dish a clean, reflective surface rather than a raw or textured one. Because it is machined rather than hand applied, the finish is consistent from piece to piece, so what you see in photos is what arrives. It pairs naturally with warm timbers, black ironmongery and other brass or bronze fittings, and works equally well as a single graphic accent in a pared back room or alongside warmer, more traditional materials.

How It Works

Inside the dish sits a 12W integrated LED, diffused evenly around the ring so no individual points of light are visible, rated at 300 lumens with a warm 2700K colour temperature. It is mains dimmable, provided you pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, so the mood can shift from a bright gathering to a quieter dinner. The pendant is hardwired to the ceiling, hung on a fabric cord from a canopy, and should be installed by a qualified electrician. It is CE certified and carries a 2 year warranty.

Graypants was founded in Seattle in 2007 by Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker, who met while studying architecture at the University of Cincinnati. The Chrona collection that the Dish 10h belongs to shows a different side of the brand's design thinking to its better known cardboard Scraplights, trading raw, textured materials for a precise machined metal ring.
