The Wellington in skinny ribbed glass is one of Fritz Fryer's most popular pendant shades, and the XL size makes it a proper centrepiece. The fine vertical ribs catch the light and add texture to what would otherwise be a plain teardrop shape.

Choosing Your Finish

Antique Brass gives the pendant a warm, softly aged look. Nickel keeps things cool and contemporary. Bronze is the darkest option, almost black, and suits a moodier room. Polished Brass is the brightest and most reflective, a finish that stands out on its own.

How It Works

Each Wellington XL pendant takes one E27 bulb, up to 8W LED, not supplied, and is dimmable. It hangs on a 1 metre black twist flex, so you will need to have the drop length checked or adjusted by an electrician to suit your ceiling height.

Where It Works Best

Its large size makes the Wellington XL well suited to hanging over a kitchen island or dining table, where it can be the main light and the main visual feature. It also works as a single statement pendant in a living room or bedroom.

Fritz Fryer has been making lights since 1982, when the company began in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, restoring antique fittings from the UK and further afield. The Wellington shade, like the rest of the range, is still hand blown, and the metal fittings are still hand coloured, which means small variations, like faint bubbles in the glass, are normal rather than a fault. The shade takes its name from Wellington, one of the Herefordshire villages the brand draws its names from.

Questions People Ask

How low does the Wellington XL pendant hang?
It comes with a 1 metre black twist flex as standard. An electrician can shorten or adjust this during installation to suit your ceiling height.

Is a bulb included?
No. The pendant takes one E27 bulb, up to 8W LED, which is not included and needs to be bought separately.

Can I return this pendant if I am not happy with it?
No. It is made to order in the finish you choose, so Fritz Fryer pendants are not returnable once ordered.

Why does the glass look slightly different to the product photos?
Each shade is hand blown, so faint air bubbles or small variations in the ribbing are normal and part of the handmade process rather than a fault.
