All four metal finishes share the same fluted glass shade, so the mood you get depends on the metalwork. Antique brass gives a warm, aged look that suits a traditional kitchen. Nickel keeps things cool and understated, working well against grey or white schemes. Bronze reads deep and moody, a good match for dark cabinetry or exposed brick. Polished brass is the boldest of the four, bright and reflective, best where you want the fitting itself to be a feature.

How It Works

This pendant takes one E27 LED bulb up to 8W (not supplied), and it is dimmable if you fit a dimmable bulb and switch. It hangs on a 1m black twist flex, so you can set the drop height to suit your ceiling.

Fritz Fryer has been making lights in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, since 1982, when the company started out restoring antique fittings brought back from across the UK and Europe. That hands on approach never left. The glass shades are still hand blown and the metalwork is still hand coloured, piece by piece, so you might spot a small air bubble in the glass or a slight variation in tone between one fitting and the next. That is part of how it is made, not a flaw. Even the name follows the same local thread, taken from Wellington, a village in Herefordshire not far from where the workshop stands.
