A Finer Ribbed Finish on a Familiar Shape

This Upton pendant keeps the same tapered silhouette as the rest of the range, but in a finer skinny ribbed glass that gives a subtler, more delicate texture than the standard ribbing. It's hand blown in the UK and works just as well alone as it does repeated in a row.

Choosing a Finish

The skinny ribbed glass doesn't change across the four finishes. Antique brass and polished brass both read warm, with polished brass the brighter and more reflective, nickel is the cooler, more contemporary option, and bronze is the darkest of the four, closer to gunmetal than a true bronze tone. Since each fitting is hand coloured, small variation between pieces is expected.

How It Works

It runs on a single E27 bulb, up to 8W LED, not supplied, and is dimmable with a compatible dimmer and bulb. It comes with 1m of black twisted flex as standard and a 6.5cm ceiling plate.

Where It Works Best

At 250mm tall and 110mm wide, its slim profile makes it easy to hang solo beside a bed or over a small table, or in a run of several above a kitchen island or dining table. Fritz Fryer set up in 1982 in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, restoring antique lights from the UK and Europe before making its own. It still hand blows its glass and hand colours its metalwork today, piece by piece, which is why small individual differences, like a faint air bubble or a subtle shade shift, are normal rather than a flaw.
