The Upton wall light takes a simple cone shaped shade and casts it in opaque white glass, so the light it gives off is soft and even rather than sharp. It fits neatly beside a bed or along a hallway wall without asking for much space.
Choosing Your Finish
The Upton wall light comes in four metal finishes. Antique Brass has a warm, slightly weathered look that suits a more traditional room. Nickel is cool and understated, good for a pared back scheme. Bronze is dark and almost matte, useful where you want the fitting itself to disappear. Polished Brass is bright and reflective, a small statement piece even with the light off.
How It Works
The wall light takes one E27 bulb, up to 8W LED, which is not supplied. It is dimmable, so you can turn the light down for evenings. The fitting can be mounted with the shade pointing up or down, so it works as an uplighter or a downlight depending on where you need the light to fall.
Where It Works Best
Because it throws a soft, diffused light, the Upton suits bedrooms either side of a bed, hallways where you want gentle background light, and dining rooms or living rooms where you want wall light without a bright glare. It also works well in a kitchen as a secondary light source.
Made By Fritz Fryer
Fritz Fryer started out in 1982 in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, restoring antique lights brought in from across the UK and Europe. That background still shapes how the brand works today. Its glass shades are hand blown and its metalwork is hand coloured, piece by piece, so no two fittings are perfectly identical. A small air bubble in the glass or a slight variation in the metal finish is part of how it is made, not a flaw. Many of the shade names, Upton included, are taken from towns and villages around Herefordshire.

Questions People Ask
Can this wall light be fitted facing up or down?
Yes. The Upton wall light can be mounted either way, so it can be used as an uplighter or a downlight depending on the effect you want in the room.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
No. Every Upton wall light is made to order in the finish you choose, so we are unable to accept returns once an order has been placed.
How long will my wall light take to arrive?
It is hand made to order in Fritz Fryer's Herefordshire workshop, with a lead time that is typically 2 to 3 weeks. This can run a little longer during busier periods.
Why might my wall light look slightly different from the photos?
The glass shade is hand blown and the metal finish is hand coloured, so small variations such as a tiny air bubble in the glass or a subtle difference in metal tone are normal and not a fault.
