Fritz Fryer Upton Contemporary Medium Wall Light - Skinny Ribbed Glass (Various Colour Options)

This Upton wall light uses the skinny ribbed glass shade, so fine vertical lines run down the cone and catch the light differently depending on where you stand. It adds texture to a fitting that would otherwise be quite plain.

Choosing Your Finish

Antique Brass has a warm, softly weathered tone that suits a more traditional room. Nickel is cooler and more contemporary. Bronze is the darkest finish, close to black, and tends to blend into the wall rather than stand out. Polished Brass is bright and glossy, and reads as more of a feature.

How It Works

It takes one E27 bulb, up to 8W LED, not supplied, and is dimmable. Like the rest of the Upton wall light range, it can be mounted with the shade facing up or down, so it works as an uplighter or a downlight depending on where you fit it.

Where It Works Best

The ribbed texture reads well up close, which makes this a good choice either side of a bed, along a hallway, or flanking a mirror where people will be near enough to notice the detail. It also works as a softer wall light in a living or dining room.

Fritz Fryer has been making lights since 1982, when it started out in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire restoring antique fittings sourced from the UK and Europe. The glass shades are still hand blown and the metalwork is still hand coloured, which is why ribbing depth and metal tone can vary slightly between individual pieces. That variation is expected rather than a fault. Upton takes its name from a village in Herefordshire, as do several other Fritz Fryer shades.

What does the ribbing look like once the light is on?
