Fritz Fryer Ledbury Ribbed Glass Pendant Light - XL (Various Colour Options)

Light behaves differently on a ribbed surface than a smooth one. Every fine vertical line in this Ledbury shade catches and bends the glow from the bulb, so the pendant reads as texture as much as light, even before it is switched on.

The Ribbed Glass

The shade is a softly curved, teardrop shaped piece of glass, hand blown in the UK with a row of narrow ribs running from top to bottom. It is available in Antique Brass, Nickel, Bronze and Polished Brass fittings. Antique Brass and Polished Brass both bring a warm, slightly vintage glow to the metalwork, though Polished Brass has a brighter, more mirrored finish. Nickel keeps things cool and understated, while Bronze is the darkest and moodiest of the four, closer to a matte black than a traditional metal tone.

Where It Works Best

A single Ledbury Ribbed pendant sits nicely over a small table or in a reading corner, but the shade is arguably at its best repeated in a row of three above a kitchen island or dining table. Fritz Fryer started out in 1982 in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, restoring antique lights brought in from across the UK and Europe. The company still hand blows its glass and hand colours its metalwork today, one piece at a time, which is why you might spot a tiny air bubble in the glass or a slight variation in tone between fittings. Ledbury, like most shades in the range, takes its name from a Herefordshire market town not far from the workshop.

Can I return this pendant if I change my mind?
No. Every Fritz Fryer fitting, including the Ledbury Ribbed Glass Pendant, is hand made to order in the finish you choose, so it cannot be returned once ordered.

How long will my order take to arrive?
This pendant is made to order in Fritz Fryer's Herefordshire workshop, with a typical lead time of 3 to 4 weeks. This can run a little longer during busy periods.

Why might my pendant look slightly different from the product photos?
The glass shade is hand blown and the metal fitting is hand coloured, so small differences such as a tiny air bubble in the glass or a subtle variation in metal tone are normal and are not considered a fault.

What bulb does this pendant need?
It takes one E27 bulb, maximum 8W LED, which is not included. The fitting is fully dimmable when used with a compatible dimmer switch.
