Flambeau Swirl 1 Light Large Wall Light - Gold Leaf

A large scale sculptural wall light finished in antiqued gold leaf

The Swirl large wall light is built around a cast resin motif with a swirling, sculpted texture, here finished in an antiqued gold leaf rather than the paler bone white option. A rectangular linen shade sits above the resin form, keeping the light soft rather than putting the shade itself on show.

Gold leaf finish

The antiqued gold leaf gives the resin motif a warm, richer character than the bone white version, with the kind of texture that catches differently depending on the light in the room. It sits comfortably alongside brass, bronze or antique gold fittings, and works as well in a hotel or restaurant interior as it does in a home.

How it works

This is a single light wall fitting. It doesn't come with a bulb, so you'll need to pick one up separately. We always recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where it works best

Given its size, this is a genuine feature piece rather than a background light, best placed somewhere it'll be properly seen, either side of a fireplace, along a stairwell, or as a focal point on a feature wall in a living or dining room. It's an indoor fitting throughout.

The story behind Flambeau

Founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2000, Flambeau Lighting grew out of New Orleans businessman Joe McKearn's decision to license the work of Paul Gruer, a former fine jewellery designer whose sculptural lamps, sconces and chandeliers had already caught the eye of galleries and interior designers in the city. Gruer's swirling, textural style, seen here in this large Swirl wall light, has stayed at the heart of the brand ever since. It reached Britain in 2012, when manufacturer Elstead Lighting began producing Flambeau's designs under licence, wiring them for 220 to 240V and certifying them to CE standard.
