Flambeau Bienville Single Table Lamp - Silver & Gold

A table lamp that pairs gold and silver in one striking piece

The Bienville table lamp brings gold and silver together in a single body, a combination that gives it more presence than a single tone finish would manage on its own. Above it sits an oversized cylindrical shade in a matching gilded finish, scaled generously enough to become the focal point of wherever it's placed.

Gold and silver finish

Rather than settling on one metallic, Bienville uses both gold and silver across its body, letting the two tones play off each other as the light changes through the day. The gilded shade repeats the gold on a larger scale above, tying the whole piece together. It suits a room that already mixes warm and cool metal tones, brass alongside chrome, for instance, rather than one built around a single finish throughout.

How it works

This is a single light table lamp, and it doesn't come with a bulb, so you'll need to add one to your order before switching it on. Being a table lamp, there's no wiring or installation involved, simply plug it in wherever it's needed.

Where it works best

Its scale and the oversized shade make it best suited to a spot with a bit of surface space to spare, a console table, a sideboard, or a large bedside table where it can be appreciated up close. It's designed for indoor use throughout the home.

The story behind Flambeau

Flambeau Lighting was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2000 by New Orleans businessman Joe McKearn, after he came across an unusual table lamp in a friend's design studio the year before. The piece turned out to be the work of Paul Gruer, a former fine jewellery designer who had been bringing New Orleans influences into custom lamps, sconces and chandeliers for galleries and interior designers. McKearn licensed Gruer's designs under the Flambeau name, and pieces like Bienville, with its mix of gold and silver, continue that same eye for a distinctive finish. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured Flambeau's designs under licence for the UK, adapting them to 220 to 240V wiring and CE certification.
