The story behind Feiss

A small lighting business in the South Bronx was where it all started for Feiss in 1955, founded by Murray Feiss around imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases, with shades hand sewn by his mother Rose. Three generations of the family carried it forward from there, building one of America's best known decorative lighting names, spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, its design heritage now sitting within Visual Comfort & Co. Elstead Lighting has represented the brand in the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting its collections to 220 to 240V. Stateroom is among the more understated ranges, a table and floor lamp collection valued for its honest materials rather than any elaborate design story.
