The Stateroom two light floor lamp is also available with an antique nickel base and a true white cotton linen shade, giving the same honest, standing light but in a cooler finish than the brass version, for rooms working with silver or grey tones instead of warm metals.

The antique nickel finish has a softly aged, silvery tone rather than a hard, shiny chrome, and the true white cotton linen shade sits well against it. How it works

This is a plug in floor lamp with an antique nickel base, and as a two light fitting it takes a pair of bulbs, which aren't included, so you'll need to add two to your order. It stands freely on its own base, with nothing to fix to a wall or ceiling.

Where it works best

As a floor lamp, it works well beside a reading chair, at the end of a sofa, or in a corner of a bedroom or living room that needs its own light source. It is an indoor fitting, made for use inside the home.

The story behind Feiss

Stateroom stands apart from Feiss's more decorative ranges by keeping things plain, a table and floor lamp collection built on honest materials rather than any elaborate design story, this floor lamp finished in Antique Nickel with a true white shade. The company behind it was founded in 1955, when Murray Feiss set up a small lighting business in the South Bronx around imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases, the shades hand sewn by his mother Rose. Three generations of family involvement grew that small start into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and the design heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co. Elstead Lighting has represented the brand in the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting the ranges to 220 to 240V wiring.
