The story behind Feiss

Feiss grew across three generations from a single family business into one of America's most established decorative lighting names, its range eventually running from chandeliers and pendants through to wall and outdoor lights. It started in 1955, when Murray Feiss began wiring imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases at his small South Bronx workshop, his mother Rose hand sewing every shade. Visual Comfort & Co. now holds the design heritage, with Elstead Lighting representing the brand across the UK and Europe since 2012 and converting the ranges to 220 to 240V. Spencer is one of the simpler pieces in the collection, its appeal resting on the pairing of Firenze Gold metalwork with a Dark Walnut base rather than any elaborate design story.
