The Roscoe single medium wall lantern is the most versatile size in the collection, bigger than the compact small version but not as bold as the large fitting. It keeps the same rectangular, modern take on a coach lantern shape, with striated framing around a recessed White Opal Glass panel and a rectangular handle detail on top.

Textured Black finish

Finished in Textured Black, this lantern has a matt, grained surface that avoids looking too shiny or new against natural building materials like brick, stone or render. The White Opal Glass diffuses the light into a soft, even glow rather than a hard, direct beam.

How it works

This lantern doesn't come with a bulb, so you'll need to add one to your order. Being an outdoor electrical fitting, we'd always recommend a registered NICEIC electrician carries out the installation and weatherproofs the wall entry point.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, it's suited to covered outdoor positions, porches, entrance porticos and garages, rather than spots left fully exposed to the weather. Its mid size makes it a good general purpose choice for most front doors, without needing the scale of the large version.

The story behind Feiss

Elstead Lighting has been adapting Feiss designs for the UK and Europe since 2012, converting them to 220 to 240V wiring, this Roscoe lantern among them. The brand itself dates to 1955 and Murray Feiss's small South Bronx business, built around imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases and shades hand sewn by his mother, Rose. Over three generations, that operation grew into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and its heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co. Roscoe takes the classic coach lantern shape and reworks it with a cleaner, more geometric frame, trading fussier period detailing for the crisper lines of a modern coastal lantern.
