The story behind Feiss

Long before Paulson's rows of individual glass rods gave it that vintage inspired silhouette, distinct from Feiss's more classically ornamented ranges, the brand itself was just getting started. Murray Feiss set up shop in the South Bronx in 1955, wiring imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases while his mother Rose hand sewed the shades to finish them. Over three generations, that small family operation became one of America's best known names in decorative lighting, its output eventually running to chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings. The Feiss name is now part of Visual Comfort & Co., with Elstead Lighting representing it across the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting each design for 220 to 240V electrical systems.
