The story behind Feiss
Rose Feiss hand sewed the shades for her son Murray's earliest lamps, wired around imported European porcelain figurines, when he founded the business in the South Bronx in 1955. Three generations of the same family carried that workshop forward into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, with a range that grew to include chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and the design heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co. Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss across the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting ranges including Hartsville for 220 to 240V systems. Hartsville takes its sweeping silhouette from the farmhouses and country life of the Colonial American heartland, finished here in a distressed Chalk Washed tone with Beachwood detailing suited to traditional and coastal casual settings alike.
