A single conical uplighter for a softer accent of light
The Drawing Room conical single wall uplighter takes a simpler form than the rest of the collection, with a single conical shade in die-cast aluminium mounted directly to the wall and angled to send its light upward. It carries the same fretwork detailing found throughout the range, drawn from traditional British architectural themes, but in a smaller, more understated fitting than the multi arm pieces.
Walnut finish
Finished in Walnut, the conical shade has a warm, dark brown tone that works well as a quiet accent piece, particularly used in multiples along a corridor or staircase where an even run of uplighters is more effective than a single statement fitting.
How it works
It takes a single bulb, which is not included, so you will need to add one to your order. As with all our wall lighting, we recommend a qualified electrician handles the installation, and being a simple single point fixing, it is a straightforward addition to an existing wall lighting circuit.
Where it works best
This suits corridors, staircases and hallways particularly well when used in a run, giving a gentle rhythm of uplighting along a wall, though it also works as a single accent beside a doorway or piece of furniture. It is intended for indoor use only.
The story behind Feiss
Today the Feiss name sits inside Visual Comfort & Co., with Elstead Lighting handling the UK and European side of the business since 2012, converting each design to run safely on 220 to 240V. It's a long way from where the brand started: a South Bronx workshop in 1955, where Murray Feiss wired imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases and his mother Rose sewed the shades by hand. Three generations later, that small operation had become one of America's best known decorative lighting houses, spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings. Drawing Room's Edwardian ironwork character, its pressed glass bowls, die-cast fitters and fretwork all rooted in British architectural themes of the period, sits comfortably within that legacy.
