The largest chandelier in the Drawing Room collection
With nine arms spreading out from its central column, the Drawing Room 9 light chandelier is the largest and most dramatic piece in the range. Each arm carries a pressed glass bowl in a die-cast aluminium fitter, and the fretwork ironwork that appears throughout the collection is given real room to be seen at this scale, drawing on the traditional British architectural themes the range is built around.
Walnut finish
In Walnut, the ironwork takes on a deep, aged brown tone that suits the grandeur of the piece, reading as a genuine period statement rather than a reproduction trying too hard. It is a chandelier built to be the focal point of a room, not to blend into the background.
How it works
Nine bulbs are required, none included, so you will need to order a full set before installation. Given the scale and weight of a nine arm chandelier, we would always recommend a qualified electrician handles the fitting, including confirming the ceiling point can safely take the load.
Where it works best
This is built for entrance halls, grand staircases and larger dining or drawing rooms with real ceiling height, where it can hang properly and be seen from below and from a distance. It is intended for indoor use only.
The story behind Feiss
Murray Feiss opened his lighting business in the South Bronx in 1955 around a distinctive idea: imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases, each finished with a shade hand sewn by his mother, Rose. Over three generations, the family run operation grew into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range eventually spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, before the design heritage settled within Visual Comfort & Co. In the UK and Europe, Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss since 2012, adapting collections such as Drawing Room for 220 to 240V electrical systems. Drawing Room itself is built around an Edwardian ironwork tradition, its pressed glass bowls, die-cast fitters and fretwork detailing all drawing on British architectural themes of the period.
