Feiss Cotswold Lane Single Small Wall Lantern - Black

The Cotswold Lane single small wall lantern takes its cue from antique gas lanterns, with architectural moulding running along the top of each pane of clear bevelled glass. It's the smallest wall mounted fitting in the collection, suited to a front door, a side gate or a run of matching lanterns rather than a single grand centrepiece.

Cast in black, the frame has a traditional, slightly formal look that pairs naturally with period brick, stone or render. The clear bevelled glass catches and refracts light rather than diffusing it, giving the lantern a bit of sparkle alongside its classic shape.

How it works

This lantern doesn't come with a bulb, so you'll need to add one to your order. As with any outdoor fitting, we'd recommend a registered NICEIC electrician handles the installation and checks the wall mounting and cable entry are properly weathersealed.

With an IP44 rating, it's suited to covered outdoor spots such as porches and canopied entrances rather than positions left fully exposed to driving rain. Its compact size makes it a natural choice either side of a front door or spaced along a boundary wall.

The story behind Feiss

Feiss's roots go back to 1955 and a small South Bronx workshop, where Murray Feiss wired imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases and his mother Rose hand sewed the shades that finished them. Three generations of family ownership later, that workshop had become one of America's best known names in decorative lighting, its output stretching from chandeliers and pendants to wall lights and outdoor fittings, and the Feiss design heritage today sits within Visual Comfort & Co. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Feiss's designs for the UK and Europe's 220 to 240V electrical systems, this small Cotswold Lane wall lantern among them, with its architectural moulding and bevelled glass drawing on the antique gas lanterns that give the whole collection a more formal, traditional character than Feiss's plainer outdoor ranges.
