The Chelsea Harbor single wall lantern brings the same working harbourside look as the rest of the collection to a fixed wall mount. Hand made from aluminium and finished with mouth blown, seedy glass, it has the slightly imperfect, hand crafted feel of the original work lanterns it's modelled on from 1940s and 1950s harboursides, rather than a smooth, mass produced finish.

Storm Cloud grey finish

Finished in Storm Cloud grey with a black speckle, the lantern has a weathered, salt worn look that suits coastal properties especially well, and works just as naturally against rendered walls, brick and timber cladding in a more general exterior setting.

How it works

It doesn't come with a bulb, so you'll need to add one to your order. With an IP44 rating, it's genuinely suited to exposed exterior walls, including spots that catch direct rain and splashing, not just sheltered porches. As with all outdoor lighting, we'd recommend a qualified electrician for the installation.

This works well beside a front or back door, along an exterior wall, or anywhere else you want reliable outdoor wall lighting that can handle the weather. The IP44 rating means it can go in genuinely exposed spots, not just covered porches.

The story behind Feiss

In 1955, Murray Feiss began building lamps in the South Bronx around imported European porcelain figurines, wiring them into bases while his mother Rose finished each shade by hand. What started as a small family concern grew, over three generations, into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range eventually running to chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings. That heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co., and Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss across the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting its designs for 220 to 240V electrical systems. Chelsea Harbor draws on a different American lighting tradition altogether, echoing the working harbourside lanterns of 1940s and 1950s America, remade here in aluminium with a Storm Cloud grey finish.
