The story behind Feiss

Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Feiss's American designs for 220 to 240V electrical systems, bringing them to the UK and European market under licence. Feiss itself is an older story, founded in 1955 by Murray Feiss in the South Bronx, who wired imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases and relied on his mother Rose to hand sew the shades that finished each one. Over three generations, the small family firm grew into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, producing chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and its design heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co. Chateau's ornate steelwork continues to draw its influence from European castles and stately homes.
