The story behind Feiss

It took three generations of the Feiss family to turn a single South Bronx workshop into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range eventually stretching to chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings. Murray Feiss started it in 1955, wiring imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases while his mother Rose hand sewed the shades that finished them. Today that heritage sits within Visual Comfort & Co., and Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss across the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting its designs for 220 to 240V electrical systems. Chateau's ornate steel frame carries the European castle and stately home influence that runs through the whole collection.
