A single light oak orb on a simple drop
The Allier small pendant hangs the collection's light oak orb on its own single drop, its kiln dried wood and opal glass making a softer, more contemporary companion to the darker Allier pendants. It's a compact option where a single, considered point of light is wanted.
Light Wood and Brushed Steel finish
The Light Wood orb's pale, even grain pairs with opal glass and a Brushed Steel fitting for an elegantly contemporary look, quite different in feel from the weathered, forged iron versions in the range. It suits pared back, lighter interiors.
How it works
The single lamp position needs its own bulb, which isn't included, so add one to your order. We'd recommend a qualified electrician for installation, as with any pendant light.
Where it works best
Its smaller scale suits a bedside, a reading corner or a smaller dining table, anywhere a single Allier drop is wanted rather than a wider spread. It's an indoor fitting throughout.
The story behind Feiss
Allier takes its name from the Allier forest in France, where oak destined for wine barrels is traditionally sourced, a heritage of aged, kiln dried timber carried through into this collection's wood and metal orbs. The Feiss name behind it goes back to 1955, when Murray Feiss opened a small lighting business in the South Bronx, New York, wiring imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases with shades hand sewn by his mother, Rose. Three generations of family ownership turned that into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range eventually spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and now sitting within Visual Comfort & Co. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted the brand's designs, including Allier, for the 220 to 240V electrical systems used across the UK and Europe.
