The Allier orb, brought close to the ceiling
The Allier flush mount fitting takes the collection's kiln dried oak orb and sets it close against the ceiling, for rooms where a hanging pendant isn't practical. It keeps the same rustic, weathered character as the rest of the range, just in a form suited to lower ceilings.

The Weathered Oak Wood orb sits within an Antique Forged Iron surround, the two finishes together making an elegantly rustic statement rather than a purely functional flush light. It suits interiors that lean towards natural materials and a more relaxed, lived in feel.
How it works
The single lamp position needs its own bulb, which isn't included, so add one to your order. We recommend a qualified electrician handles installation, as with any ceiling fitting.

The story behind Feiss
Before Feiss became known for anything else, it was imported European porcelain figurines, wired into lamp bases, that defined the business Murray Feiss started in the South Bronx, New York, in 1955, the shades for each one hand sewn by his mother, Rose. The company he began stayed in family hands for three generations, growing steadily into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, with chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings all eventually part of the range. Visual Comfort & Co. now carries that design heritage forward, and since 2012 Elstead Lighting has adapted Feiss collections, Allier among them, for the 220 to 240V electrical systems used across the UK and Europe. Allier's own name nods to the French forest whose oak is traditionally used for wine barrels, that heritage of aged, kiln dried timber translated here into a modern silhouette of wood and metal orbs.
