The View is a sculptural outdoor wall light from Faro Barcelona, designed by Estudi Ribaudí. It sits low and horizontal against a wall, with a gently waisted body that pinches in at the centre and flares out towards each end, giving it a soft, ribbon like silhouette that reads almost like a bow when the light is off. Instead of pushing a beam straight forward, it opens along its upper and lower edges to wash the wall above and below with a quiet up and down glow, so the fitting itself becomes a subtle architectural detail rather than a glare source.

This version wears a matte dark grey, a warm anthracite tone that keeps a low profile in daylight and settles naturally against brick, render, stone and timber cladding. It is an easy match for contemporary and pared back exteriors, where the restrained colour lets the shape and the up and down light effect do the talking after dark. The body is made from aluminium and polycarbonate, materials chosen for their weather resistance and their smooth, seamless finish, so the surface stays clean and uniform across the whole curved form.

How it works

The View takes a single E27 screw fit bulb of up to 15W, which is not included, leaving you free to choose the brightness and colour warmth that suit your setting. The holder is ready for an LED bulb, which we would recommend outdoors for its longevity and low running cost. It is not dimmable. Light is emitted from both the top and bottom of the fitting for a balanced wash up and down the wall. This is a mains powered, wall mounted fitting, and Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Mounted on house façades, garden walls, porches, entrances, terraces and along pathways, the View adds a modern accent while gently lighting the surface it sits on. Rated IP54, it is protected against dust and against water splashing from any direction, so it copes comfortably with normal exposure on an outdoor wall, whether that is an open garden elevation or a sheltered entrance.
