A slim wash of warm light for doorways and garden walls
The Takua is a compact outdoor wall lamp with a clean, low profile form that sits close to the wall. Its slim rectangular body has a gently wedged face, and a wide opal diffuser runs along the lower edge to wash light softly downward. It is a quiet, contemporary exterior fitting made to mark an entrance or graze a wall with warm light rather than draw attention to itself.
The dark grey finish
This version wears a matt dark grey, a versatile anthracite tone that reads almost charcoal against pale render and settles discreetly against brick, stone or timber cladding. The colour is applied to a robust aluminium body built to cope with the weather, while the diffuser stays a crisp white to keep the light output even and glare free. Understated and easy to live with, the dark grey suits modern and traditional exteriors alike and pairs neatly with darker window frames, gutters and ironmongery. It is one of several finishes in the Takua family, so this is the choice for anyone after a subtle, low key look outdoors.
How it works
Takua uses an integrated LED, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. Faro rates it at 10W with a warm white 3000K colour temperature and a colour rendering index above 80 for natural looking tones after dark, and states a light output of around 450 lumens. The light source is included and is not user replaceable. The lamp is wall mounted and hardwired to the mains. Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where it works best
This is an exterior fitting suited to porches, front and back doors, garden walls, terraces, patios and courtyards. Mounted either side of a doorway or spaced along a boundary wall, its downward wash is a natural way to light paths, steps and seating areas without harsh glare. The small footprint makes it easy to use in numbers, so it lends itself to a consistent lighting scheme across a facade or right along a garden wall.
