The Sunset is a compact outdoor wall light with a softly curved, drum like body that sits close to the wall and casts light both upward and downward. Its neat trick is a pair of directable wings set into the top and bottom openings, which you can angle to widen or tighten each beam. That small adjustment lets you dial in practical illumination beside a door or a gentler wash of light travelling up and down the wall, from one modest fitting.

The dark grey finish

This version wears a matt dark grey, an anthracite tone that reads as almost charcoal against render, brick or timber cladding. It is a quietly modern colour that recedes in daylight and lets the light do the talking after dark, settling comfortably against both contemporary and more traditional exteriors. The body pairs aluminium with glass, a combination chosen to stand up to life outdoors. The Sunset comes in other finishes too, but dark grey is the one that melts most naturally into shadow and stonework.

How it works

The Sunset uses an integrated LED rather than a replaceable bulb, so there is no lamp to source and nothing to swap over its life. It draws 6W in total from two 3W SMD LED modules and produces a warm white 3000K light of around 260 lumens, with a colour rendering index of over 80 for natural looking colour. Faro rates the LED for approximately 50,000 hours of use. As a mains powered, wall mounted fitting it is designed to be hardwired into your electrical supply. Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where it works best

This is an exterior fitting suited to house walls, façades, porches, entrances and garden walls, where its up and down beam can graze a surface or frame a doorway. It looks especially good mounted in pairs flanking a front door, marking a run of boundary wall, or bringing rhythm to a courtyard or terrace. The warm 3000K tone flatters masonry and planting, so it earns its keep for atmosphere as much as for wayfinding along a path or driveway.
