The Faro Side 200 in black and gold is a compact circular ceiling light that turns a simple disc into something quietly sculptural. A domed opal glass diffuser sits at the centre, wrapped by a broad satin gold rim that catches the light and glows softly around the edge. At just 20cm across it is a neat, low profile fitting, close to the ceiling rather than hanging from it, which makes it easy to place where a larger light would feel heavy.

The black and gold finish

This is the warmest of the smaller Side finishes. The brushed gold rim gives off a soft, golden reflection when lit, while the black backplate keeps the fitting grounded against a pale or dark ceiling alike. It reads as jewellery for the ceiling rather than a statement chandelier, so it sits happily alongside brass or gold tapware, warm wood and cream tones. If you prefer a cooler, more industrial edge, the same shape is offered in black and copper, and there is a larger 39cm Side for rooms that want more presence, but the gold on this 20cm version is the one that leans soft and hospitable.

How it works

The Side 200 takes a single replaceable G9 bulb, which is not included, so you can choose the colour temperature and brightness that suits the room. It is not dimmable. The body is steel with an opal glass diffuser that spreads the light evenly and hides the bulb from view. Designed for wall or ceiling mounting, it is hardwired to the mains. Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Its small footprint makes the Side 200 genuinely versatile. Use a pair to frame a hallway or run several along a landing, fit one in a walk in wardrobe or over a reading nook, or use it as gentle secondary lighting in a bedroom or living room where you do not want a large central fixture.
