The Saigon brings the ease of an indoor floor lamp out into the open air. Designed by Nahtrang for Faro Barcelona, it pairs a tall, slender stem with a wide, softly coned shade woven from synthetic wicker, so a familiar living room silhouette feels completely at home on a terrace or in a garden. The look is calm and pared back, letting the texture of the weave do the talking.

The grey and brown finish

This version stands two metres tall on a slim dark grey aluminium pole and a low, round weighted base that keeps it steady on hard ground. The generous shade, a little over a metre across, is the centrepiece: the synthetic wicker is graded in colour, opening pale and warm brown at the crown and deepening to an almost charcoal brown at the rim. Against the graphite grey stem it reads as natural and understated, an easy match for stone, timber decking, planting and rattan or teak furniture. The colour graduation and the wider metre wide shade set this model apart from the plainer and smaller Saigon variants.

How it works

Light comes from a single E27 lamp, which is not included, so you can choose the brightness and warmth that suits the setting; a warm white bulb flatters the wicker beautifully. It takes an E27 bulb up to 15W. The shade sits over the lamp to spread a soft, downward pool of light rather than a harsh glare. The lamp is supplied with its stem, base and shade ready to assemble, and runs from a standard mains supply on a two metre cable. As a mains powered fitting, Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating the Saigon is protected against splashing water from any direction, which makes it ideal for covered and sheltered outdoor spots rather than places open to driving rain. The Saigon is part of that outdoor family, combining a corrosion resistant aluminium structure with a durable synthetic wicker shade built to hold its colour and shape outside.
