A Large Ceiling Fan Built Around a DC Motor

The Faro Pemba Large is a big ceiling fan designed for rooms that need real airflow. With a 1320mm blade span, it moves more air than a standard fan and suits rooms up to 13m². Instead of the usual AC motor, it runs on a DC motor with six speed settings, giving you finer control over airflow than the usual three or four speed AC fan.

The White Finish

This version comes in white, with a steel motor housing and ABS blades. The blades are the same white colour on both sides rather than a two tone reversible design, so the look stays consistent whichever way the fan is spinning. It is a clean, understated finish that suits painted ceilings and pairs easily with white or light coloured walls.

Where It Works Best

With a 13m² coverage and a 1320mm diameter, the Pemba Large is suited to bigger rooms such as spacious bedrooms, open plan living areas or large lounges, where a smaller fan would struggle to circulate air across the whole space. At 215mm high with a 170mm ceiling plate, it needs a reasonably generous ceiling height to hang comfortably.

Faro Barcelona has been building ceiling fans since the 1980s, when the founder's son travelled to Hong Kong to find new products and partners, a trip that helped Faro become Spain's first major ceiling fan importer. The business later moved from importing fans to designing its own, working with industrial designers from its studio near Barcelona in Castellbisbal, while manufacturing runs through a global supply network. Materials are chosen fan by fan, and on the Pemba Large that means a steel motor housing paired with ABS blades, built to handle the demands of a larger diameter fan.

Does this fan come with a light?
No. The Pemba Large is sold without a light source. An optional LED light kit (reference 33471K) is available separately if you want light as well as airflow from the same fixture.

Can I control the speed with a wall dimmer switch?
No. This fan has a DC motor, so speed is controlled using the remote control that's included, not a wall mounted dimmer switch.

What size room does this fan suit?
It's rated for rooms up to 13m², so it works well in larger bedrooms, open plan living spaces or bigger lounges.

Can the blades be reversed for a different colour in winter?
The blades are white on both sides, so there's no colour change. The motor does have a reverse function, which you can use to change the direction of airflow between summer and winter.
