A slender cone of light
The Faro Pam 165 is a compact LED pendant with a tall, tapered profile that narrows to a fine neck and opens into a crisp conical mouth. It is one of those quietly confident fittings that reads as sculpture when the light is off and turns into a focused pool of warm light the moment it is switched on. Built in steel, it belongs to Faro Barcelona's Pam family, a set of pared back cones designed to hang cleanly and let the shape do the talking.
The black and gold finish
This is the smaller 165 size in matt black with a gold lined interior. The outside is a soft, non reflective black that recedes against most ceilings, while the inside of the cone is finished in warm gold, so light bounces off it and takes on a flattering amber cast as it falls. It is a deliberately two tone effect: understated from across the room, richer and more characterful once you are underneath it. The black cable and matching black ceiling canopy keep the whole drop visually simple. Gold accents in a kitchen, brass tapware or warm timber all sit naturally alongside it.
How it works
Light comes from an integrated LED module, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. Faro rates the module at 11W with an output of around 900 lumens at a warm 3000K colour temperature and a colour rendering index of over 80. The driver is included, and the pendant is supplied with roughly 150cm of cable and an 11cm ceiling canopy, which you can shorten at installation to set the hanging height. Please note this fitting is not dimmable. As a mains fed pendant it needs hardwiring, so Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where it works best
The narrow beam and modest 16.5cm diameter make the Pam 165 a natural choice over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, particularly hung in a row of two or three to line a longer worktop. It also works beautifully as a single accent above a bedside table, in a hallway, or over a console. Because the light is directional and warm, it is best thought of as task and accent lighting rather than a whole room wash. It suits modern, industrial and Scandi leaning interiors where a small, well made shape earns its place.
About Faro Barcelona
Faro Barcelona began as Lorefar, founded in Barcelona in 1951 by Carlos Lopez Lopez, who built the brand's name from his own surname Lopez, his wife's surname Orejudo, and the word faro. The company today designs its collections from Castellbisbal, on the edge of Barcelona, commissioning work from its own studio and outside industrial designers alike. The Pam range is a good example of that approach: considered material choices, a clean industrial silhouette and integrated LED engineering rather than a decorative shade dressed over a standard lamp.

Questions People Ask
What does the gold interior of the Faro Pam 165 do to the light?
The inside of the cone is finished in warm gold, so the LED light bounces off it and takes on a flattering amber cast as it spreads downward from the Pam 165.
How many Faro Pam 165 pendants do I need over a kitchen island?
Most people hang two or three Faro Pam 165 pendants in a row to line a standard kitchen island or breakfast bar, since each one gives a narrow, focused pool of light rather than a broad wash.
Can the Faro Pam 165 be dimmed?
No. The Faro Pam 165 is not dimmable, so it runs at a fixed brightness of around 900 lumens from a standard switched circuit.
Is the Faro Pam 165 suitable for a bathroom?
No. The Faro Pam 165 is rated IP20, which means it is designed for indoor, dry room use only and should not be fitted in a bathroom or anywhere it could be splashed.
