The Faro Nautica 260 Pendant takes its cue from the lanterns you find along quaysides and boat houses, with a broad coolie shade suspended on a chain and a rounded glass diffuser held in a protective metal cage beneath. It is a warm, characterful outdoor pendant that brings a maritime, slightly weathered charm to a porch or entrance without feeling like a reproduction.

The rust finish in the compact 260 size

This is the rust brown version, an aged, earthy tone with a mottled, lived in surface that reads as if the metal has already spent a few seasons by the coast. It suits brick, stone and timber beautifully, and pairs naturally with rustic, farmhouse and country cottage exteriors. The 260 refers to the 26cm shade, the smaller option in the range, so it works well over a single doorway, a narrow porch or a compact covered walkway where a larger fitting would feel heavy. The clear seeded glass gives the light a soft, gently textured quality when lit.

How it works

The pendant is made from metal with a clear seeded glass diffuser, and hangs on a chain from a matching ceiling rose. The chain can be shortened at installation to set the drop you want, so the lamp sits at a sensible height under a porch or canopy. It takes a single E27 screw fit bulb up to 15W, which is not included, leaving you free to choose the brightness and warmth that suits the setting. It is not dimmable. As a mains powered, hardwired fitting, Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where it works best

With an IP33 rating, the Nautica 260 is protected against spraying water and is best suited to covered outdoor positions rather than full exposure to driving rain. Think porches, entrance canopies, covered walkways, verandas and sheltered doorways, or a covered outdoor kitchen or dining area. It is a good choice for anyone after a characterful, nautical style pendant to light the way to a front or back door.
