Faro Magritte 450 Picture Wall Light - Old Gold

A slim picture light with quiet confidence

The Faro Magritte 450 is a wall mounted picture light built to throw a soft, even wash of light across whatever hangs beneath it. A neat rectangular back plate carries a single slender arm out to a slim cylindrical head, and that head tilts on an adjustable joint so you can aim the beam exactly where the artwork needs it. The lines are deliberately minimalist, keeping the attention on the piece being lit rather than the fitting itself.

The Old Gold finish at 450mm

This is the larger 450 size in a warm Old Gold finish, a mellow aged brass tone with none of the cold glint of a bright metal. The extra width suits broader canvases, landscape prints and wider framed pieces where a shorter light would leave the edges in shadow. The warmth of the gold sits beautifully against timber and gilt frames, panelled walls and warmer paint palettes, and it reads as a considered choice rather than a bright accent. If your scheme leans cooler or more graphic, the same fitting is offered in black, and there is a compact 300 version for smaller works.

How it works

Light comes from an integrated 8W LED module, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace and nothing to source before installation. Faro lists the LED as 3000K warm white with an output of around 500 lumens, a gentle colour temperature well suited to picking out artwork without bleaching its tones. The driver needed to run the LED is included in the box, and the fitting is not dimmable, so it is designed to give its full, steady warm glow. This is a hardwired mains fitting, so Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where it works best

A picture light of this length is at home above a substantial painting or print in a living room, hallway, study or dining room, and it works just as well over a mantelpiece or a run of framed photographs. It is an indoor fitting for dry rooms, ideal wherever you want to give a favourite piece a bit of gallery presence without flooding the whole wall with light.
