A slimline picture light with a warm metallic glow
The Faro Magritte 300 is an adjustable picture wall light designed to wash a painting, print or framed photograph in soft, even illumination while all but disappearing against the wall. Its form is deliberately restrained: a slender cylindrical head carried on a pivoting arm that rises from a small rectangular backplate, so the fitting draws no attention away from the artwork it lights. This is the smaller 300 size in the Magritte family, well suited to individual frames and more compact pieces.
The Old Gold finish
Finished in Old Gold, this version trades the crispness of the black model for something warmer and more antique in feel. The muted golden tone catches the light gently along the tube and reads as a considered accent rather than a bright shine, sitting comfortably alongside gilt frames, timber panelling, warm neutral walls and traditional or transitional interiors. If you prefer a finish that recedes into a darker scheme, the same fitting is offered in black, and both finishes come in a longer 450 size for wider canvases.
How it works
The light source is an integrated 6W LED, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace, and the driver needed to run it is included in the box. Faro lists the LED as a warm 3000K colour temperature with a light output of around 380 lumens, which gives a gentle wash rather than a harsh beam. The head tilts on its arm so you can angle the light down onto the frame and fine tune the spread once it is mounted. The integrated LED is not specified as dimmable. As a hardwired wall fitting, Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where it works best
The Magritte 300 is at home in a hallway, a study, a sitting room or above a mantelpiece, anywhere a single artwork or mirror deserves to be picked out after dark. It is an indoor picture light rated IP20 for dry rooms, so it belongs in living spaces rather than damp or exposed areas. Because it is compact and unobtrusive, it also works well in galleries of smaller framed prints where several fittings sit in a row.
About Faro Barcelona
Faro Barcelona began as Lorefar, founded in Barcelona in 1951 by Carlos Lopez Lopez, who built the company name from his own surname Lopez, his wife's surname Orejudo, and the word faro. The brand designs its collections from Castellbisbal, on the edge of Barcelona, pairing careful aluminium and steel construction with integrated LED engineering, which shows in the Magritte's quietly functional form.

Questions People Ask
What does the Old Gold finish on the Faro Magritte 300 suit?
The Old Gold finish on the Faro Magritte 300 is a mellow, antique tone on an aluminium and steel body, and it sits well against gilt frames, timber panelling and warmer, traditional colour schemes.
Is the Faro Magritte 300 available in another finish?
Yes. Alongside this Old Gold version, the Faro Magritte 300 is also made in matt black, and both finishes are offered in a longer 450mm size for wider artwork.
How accurately does the Faro Magritte 300 render colour?
Faro lists a colour rendering index above 80 for the Magritte 300's integrated LED, which means colours in a painting or photograph should read close to how they look in natural daylight rather than washed out.
How far out from the wall does the Faro Magritte 300 sit?
The Faro Magritte 300 projects around 22cm from the wall on its pivoting arm, keeping the fitting close enough to stay unobtrusive while clearing the frame it is lighting.
