A sculptural outdoor wall light shaped like a lotus leaf
The Lotus is a sculptural outdoor wall light that takes its cue from the curved leaves of the lotus flower. A single rounded disc lifts away from the wall on a compact cylindrical base, so the fitting reads as a soft organic form by day and casts a gentle wash of light across the wall by night. It is part of Faro Barcelona's Lotus collection, designed by Estudi Ribaudí, and brings a quiet, modern shape to exterior walls without the hard edges of a conventional bulkhead or box lantern.
The dark grey finish
This version wears a matt dark grey, an anthracite tone that settles easily against render, brick, stone and timber cladding. The muted, non reflective surface keeps the focus on the leaf like silhouette and suits contemporary and pared back exteriors particularly well. The body is made from aluminium with a polycarbonate diffuser, a combination Faro favours for outdoor fittings because it stands up to the weather while keeping the piece light on the wall. If you are choosing across a scheme, the dark grey is the discreet, recede into the wall option rather than a statement brass or bright white.
How it works
Lotus uses an integrated LED, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. Faro rates it at 18W with a warm white colour temperature of 3000K, which gives a relaxed, inviting glow rather than a cold clinical light. The curved shade shields the light source and directs the beam along the wall, creating a smooth gradient of light and shadow. It is a mains wired fitting that mounts to the wall through its circular base.
Where it works best
This is a natural choice for terraces, gardens, porches and courtyards, and it works beautifully in pairs either side of a door or spaced along a façade or garden wall to light a path or circulation area. With its IP65 rating it is built for genuinely exposed positions, so it is equally at home lighting a driveway wall, an open patio or an entrance that catches the rain. It suits homeowners and designers who want exterior lighting to feel considered and architectural rather than purely functional.
About Faro Barcelona
Faro Barcelona began as Lorefar, founded in Barcelona in 1951 by Carlos López López, who built the name from his own surname, his wife's surname Orejudo, and the word faro. The company now designs its collections from Castellbisbal on the edge of Barcelona and engineers its outdoor ranges specifically for weather resistance, typically pairing integrated LEDs with warm colour temperatures. The Lotus, designed by Estudi Ribaudí, is a good example of that approach, combining a distinctive form with materials chosen to last outdoors.

Questions People Ask
Can the Faro Lotus be fitted somewhere that gets rained on directly?
Yes. The Faro Lotus outdoor wall light is IP65 rated, which means it is sealed against dust and protected against low pressure water jets from any direction, so it does not need a porch or overhang to sit under.
How much light does the Faro Lotus give out?
Faro states the Lotus produces around 1120 lumens from an 18W integrated LED at 3000K, with a colour rendering index above 80. That is enough to light an entrance or a stretch of garden wall as a primary exterior light rather than only as an accent.
Is the Faro Lotus tough enough for a driveway or passageway wall?
Faro rates the Lotus IK08 for impact resistance, which covers knocks of moderate force, so it suits positions where people, bikes or bins pass close to the wall.
Can the Faro Lotus be mounted to throw light upwards instead of down?
Yes. The head can be oriented either way, so the same fitting can wash light up a wall or down towards a path, and it can also be used indoors facing downwards if you prefer.
