The Faro Link Table Lamp in black is a modern steel table lamp built around one clever idea: a tilting cylindrical head that you can angle almost anywhere you need light. Designed by Estudi Ribaudí for Faro Barcelona, it pairs a slim vertical stem with a slanted, tapered shade, so the light reads as sculptural when off and precise when on. It is a quietly confident piece for a desk, a console or a bedside table, offering focused task lighting without the bulk of a traditional lamp.

The black finish

This version wears a matt black finish across the steel head, stem and round disc base, giving it a graphic, monochrome look that settles easily into contemporary and minimalist interiors. The uniform black lets the geometry do the talking, the long clean stem against the angled cylinder, and it works especially well as a foil to pale walls, timber desks or brass accents elsewhere in the room. It belongs to the wider Link family, which also includes a taller floor lamp in both black and a warmer bronze finish, so you can echo the design at different scales through a space.

How it works

The head tilts to direct the beam where you want it, making this a genuinely adjustable reading and task light rather than a fixed ambient one. It takes a single GU10 bulb, which is not included, so you can choose the beam angle and colour temperature that suit the setting. Faro lists a maximum of 8W for the lamp holder. This is a plug in lamp supplied with a cable and plug, operated by a simple on and off switch on the flex, so there is no wiring or installation to think about, just position it and plug it in. As standard it is not a dimmable fitting; brightness is best tuned through your choice of bulb.

Where it works best

At around 46cm tall it sits comfortably on a desk, a bedside table or a shelf without dominating. The adjustable head makes it a natural desk lamp for a home office or study, a considerate bedside reading light, or a way to throw a pool of light over a favourite corner in a living room. It suits anyone who wants proper directional light with a design led, understated feel.
