A crisp cube of warm light for exterior walls
The Faro Hikari is a compact, square outdoor wall light with a clean, architectural feel. An open box frame surrounds a large opal diffuser panel, so the whole face lights up evenly rather than casting a single hard spot. It is a quietly modern fitting that suits contemporary homes as well as older properties looking for an understated, geometric touch beside a door or along a wall.
The dark grey finish
This version comes in a textured dark grey, a deep anthracite tone that reads almost charcoal against pale render and sits comfortably against brick, stone or timber cladding. The frame is made from aluminium, chosen by Faro Barcelona for its resistance to corrosion outdoors, and the glowing panel is a polycarbonate diffuser that softens and spreads the light. The dark grey works particularly well where you want the fitting to recede by day and simply glow at night. Hikari is also offered in other finishes, so if you are matching existing exterior fittings it is worth checking the full range.
How it works
Light comes from an integrated LED rated at 10W with a warm white 3000K colour temperature, giving a cosy, inviting glow that flatters brickwork and planting rather than the cooler, bluer light of some outdoor fittings. Because the LED is built in, there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. The lamp is wall mounted and mains powered, wired directly into your household supply. Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where it works best
The Hikari is well suited to front and back door surrounds, porches, garden walls, terraces, patios and passageways, anywhere a neat pool of warm light helps you find the lock or move safely after dark. Its low, square profile also works nicely in pairs, flanking an entrance or repeated along a boundary wall or the face of a garden building.
Weather resistance
The Hikari carries an IP65 rating. The 6 means it is fully protected against dust, and the 5 means it is protected against low pressure water jets from any direction, so it can cope with driving rain and full exposure to the weather. That makes it genuinely suitable for open, uncovered positions rather than only sheltered spots under a porch.

Questions People Ask
What does the IP65 rating mean for the Hikari?
IP65 means the Faro Hikari is fully protected against dust and against low pressure water jets from any direction, so according to Faro it can be fitted in fully exposed positions that take direct rain, not just sheltered spots.
What does the IK10 rating add to the Hikari?
IK10 is the highest impact resistance rating on the standard scale, so the Faro Hikari is built to withstand knocks and impacts in situations such as a communal passageway or a wall at ground level where it might get bumped.
Is 400 lumens enough to light a doorway?
At around 400 lumens the Faro Hikari gives a genuinely useful, even pool of light across its full diffuser panel, enough to see a lock or step clearly, though it is intended as accent and wayfinding light rather than a replacement for a bright security floodlight.
Can the Hikari's bulb be replaced if it stops working?
No, the Faro Hikari has an integrated 10W LED with no separate bulb, so the light source is not user replaceable and is designed to run for a long service life as a sealed unit.
