This version of the DOME wall light adds a genuinely useful second layer of light. Beneath the soft gloss white hemisphere sits a slim, adjustable LED reading spot, so one fitting gives you both a gentle ambient glow and a focused beam for a book. It is a neat, space saving idea from Faro Lab, whose DOME collection reworks 1970s shapes for the modern interior.

The satin black and gloss white finish

The opaline dome carries the warm, even light the collection is known for, while the satin black reader arm and fittings add a crisp, technical counterpoint. Together they look considered rather than busy, and tie in easily with darker joinery, frames and hardware.

How it works

The main light uses a single E27 bulb (G45, 15W maximum), supplied separately. The integrated reading light is a directional LED rated at 3W with a warm 2700K colour, so it is ready to use straight away and can be angled exactly where you need it. As a mains fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

This is a bedside classic. Fitted either side of a bed it keeps the tables clear and lets each person read without disturbing the other. It also works well beside an armchair or in a reading nook, wherever you want soft background light and a sharper task beam from the same point.
