The DOME Medium is a spherical pendant from Faro Lab, the in house design studio at Faro Barcelona. A generous opaline globe is split neatly across its centre by a slim satin black band, a single graphic line that gives an otherwise soft, round form a crisp architectural edge. Faro Lab describes the piece as a reinterpretation of refined 1970s style through modern materials, and it carries that period character without ever looking like a reproduction.

The satin black and gloss white finish

The gloss white shade glows warmly when lit and reads as a clean sculptural sphere when switched off. The satin black band, cable and ceiling rose frame the globe and tie it to darker fittings elsewhere in the room. It is a versatile pairing that settles happily into pared back modern interiors and warmer, more layered schemes alike.

How it works

Light comes from a single E27 bulb in the G45 globe format, up to a maximum of 20W, supplied separately so you can choose the look you prefer. Faro recommends a warm 2200K dimmable LED with high CRI 90 colour rendering for the softest result, and the pendant dims when paired with a compatible bulb and dimmer. It hangs from an adjustable cable of up to two metres, which can be shortened at installation to set your ideal drop.

Where it works best

At around 42cm across, DOME Medium has real presence and rewards a spot where the light can be a focal point. It looks especially good centred over a dining table, a kitchen island or in a hallway, and works equally well in the home or in hospitality and contract settings. Hang one on its own for a bold statement, or run several in a line above a longer table or counter.
