The brass finish

This version is finished in solid brass, a material long favoured for coastal and exterior lighting because it stands up so well to damp, salty air. Left to weather naturally, the brass will gradually mellow and develop a living patina over the years, deepening in tone to suit period and traditional settings. Paired with the crisp vertical fluting of the glass, the warm metal gives the Borda a nautical, workshop inspired look that reads as both smart and understated. It is a small fitting, so it layers neatly beside doors, along walls and under eaves without dominating.

How it works

The Borda takes a single E27 screw fit bulb rated at 15W maximum, which is not included, so you can choose the brightness and warmth that suits your space. It is not dimmable. This is a mains wired fitting, and Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician. The brass cage unclips to give access to the lamp holder for bulb changes.
