A tall, slender column of light for contemporary gardens
The Beret 1800 is a tall, slender pole light that brings a clean, contemporary line to outdoor spaces. Rather than a traditional lantern head, it carries a slim vertical band of opal diffused light near the top of the column, so the glow is soft and even rather than glaring. At 180cm tall it reads as a quiet architectural marker, well suited to modern gardens and landscaped settings where you want light without visual clutter.
The Dark Grey finish
This version wears a dark grey, anthracite toned finish over a die cast aluminium body. It is a colour that recedes against paving, render and planting during the day and lets the illuminated opal PMMA diffuser do the talking after dark. The dark grey pairs naturally with slate, charcoal brick and contemporary timber, and sits comfortably alongside other anthracite exterior fittings. If you are matching a scheme, this is the more understated option in the Beret family compared with lighter finishes.
How it works
Light comes from an integrated LED behind the opal PMMA diffuser, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. The LED is rated at 16W with a neutral white 4000K colour temperature, giving a crisp, clear light that is good for orientation and gentle wayfinding. The column is built in aluminium and stands 180cm tall, finishing in a round base plate that bolts down to a firm surface. Because it is a mains powered fitting, it needs to be wired in and secured to a prepared foundation. Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where it works best
The Beret 1800 is designed for exterior use and works beautifully lining a path, driveway or garden route, where a run of them creates a rhythm of soft vertical light. A single lamp also stands well beside a doorway, on a terrace edge or within planting as a freestanding accent. With its slim profile and modern silhouette, it suits contemporary landscaping, courtyards and low maintenance gardens for anyone who wants a discreet, sculptural source of outdoor light.

Questions People Ask
How bright is the Faro Beret 1800, and what is it best used for?
The Beret 1800 produces around 625 lumens from its integrated 16W LED. That is enough to mark a path or driveway with a soft, even glow rather than floodlight an area, so it works best as wayfinding and accent lighting.
What does the IP54 rating on the Beret 1800 mean in practice?
IP54 means the Beret 1800 is protected against dust and against water splashing from any direction, so it can be installed in an open garden position and left to cope with normal rain without extra shelter.
How is the Faro Beret 1800 fixed in place?
The Beret 1800 finishes in a round bolt down base plate rather than a ground spike, so it needs a solid, prepared foundation such as concrete to bolt into rather than being pushed straight into soil or grass.
Can the Faro Beret 1800 be dimmed?
No. The Beret 1800 runs at a fixed 4000K neutral white output with no dimming function, so its brightness is set once it is wired in.
